Testing Quality Toothpaste Through Egg

5.2.10

Jakarta, Want to know how good quality toothpaste you currently use? A simple experiment can be done at home to prove the content of fluoride in toothpaste. With capitalize eggs, you can know whether the toothpaste is used for porous enough to prevent tooth or not.

Rotten teeth is damage to the tooth structure which affects the outer layer that protects the teeth, namely email. This damage can continue to spread until the layers in the teeth (dentine and pulp). If left over time, not just a toothache that will be felt but can also be a serious illness.

"I once had a patient a former officer's wife. He was sentenced to only a stroke because of an infection in his teeth. And it all happened after 2 years of dental infections," said Rosa, Rai Djalal drg on the show 'Eggsperimen, Only the Strong Proves Lasting' at Plaza Sentral, Jakarta, Wednesday (3/2/2010).

According to a beautiful doctor who is also Presidential Spokesman wife SBY, Dino Pati Jalal, the tooth will easily porous if there are four factors, namely the tooth itself, the substrate (food scraps), microorganisms and time.

"Plaque or food scraps that contain carbohydrates and sugar is converted by bacteria in the mouth becomes acidic compounds. Acid issued long plaque can erode tooth enamel, causing thinning," said Rosa drg.

Therefore, to prevent and protect teeth from thinning, be sure to use toothpaste that contains enough fluoride. Substance of fluoride will prevent tooth pengeropposan by inhibiting demineralisasi and harden tooth enamel

How to know fluoride is enough or not? Try doing the following simple experiment:

1. Provide an egg, a bowl and toothpaste.
2. Toothpaste Pour into a small bowl that has been filled with water, stir and dissolve with the average
3. Immerse the egg into the solution of toothpaste, let stand for 4 days
4. After 4 days, rinse the eggs that have been soaked until clean and dry
5. Once dry, insert the eggs into a glass containing a solution of vinegar and let stand for 3 hours

If within 3 hours of the eggshells that have been soaked in vinegar solution becomes incomplete, meaning the content of fluoride in toothpaste is not maximized. There should have fluoride in toothpaste can keep calcium in egg shells for 5 hours.

The characteristics of the coated eggs toothpaste to low fluoride include:

1. Quickly produce air bubbles when I first dipped in acid solution
2. Fast floating because egg density is reduced due to the release of calcium from egg shells
3. experiencing rapid peeling eggshell within 3 hours

In these experiments, the egg analogy as teeth because both have calcium network vulnerable to acid. Meanwhile analogous vinegar as the acid in the mouth. Acid in vinegar and sour mouth pasa both are corrosive and reacts to calcium.

A good toothpaste is toothpaste that calcium can prevent tooth damage from acidic compounds. In the egg test, a good toothpaste should be able to prevent damage to the shell to remain intact and not be separated from its shell.

In addition to using a toothbrush, toothpaste with fluoride is, the consumption of vegetables and fruits should also be copied because it can be as self-cleaning. "Fruit and vegetables will trigger saliva production, thereby reducing the level of acidity in the mouth and reduces the risk of brittle teeth," said Rosa drg.

Brushing your teeth 2 times a day also should not be underestimated because the impact can affect the aesthetic one.

"Appeal to brush your teeth 2 times a day (after meals and before bed) is not playing games. Kerapihan dental hygiene and is an important factor supporting the aesthetics, especially women. Even if her teeth pretty but hollow, it would seem so bad," he said.
